The project named Vishwashanti Niketan that is being developed by Karnataka Parents' Association for Mentally Retarded Citizens [KPAMRC] to provide long term residential care to persons with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities at Arshinakunte near Nelamangala is moving on soomthly, thanks to the support extended by well wishers like you and host of others. So far we have been able to complete four units which provide facilities for 35 persons to stay on long term basis. A unit is exclusively available for ladies to stay. Similarly in another unit facilities have been created for parents to stay on short / long term basis depending on their convenience to oversee the activities and extend the much needed love and affection to the residents. Facilities are also available for vocational training and a day care centre. For these four units about Rs. 2 crore has been spent and right now 25 people are residing there and about 10 have reserved places for their wards. On 5th May 2011, Foundation stone was laid to the 5th unit. This unit will have three floors and the ground one is earmarked exclusively for persons with cerebral palsy. The other two will be for persons with mental retardation and autism. The cost of this unit is estimated to be Rs. One crore including interior fittings, furniture and the other essential equipments. We are making this appeal to you to join us in completing this unit by extending whatever financial support that you can and help us in taking this project forward and complete it by the end of the year. We are very sure that you will come forward and support us to complete this dream project and incidentally also answer partially the vital question of senior parents 'After us What'?. Any contribution to KPAMRC has tax benefits under 80G of Income Tax Act. The Association is also eligible to receive funds from abroad under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act [FCRA].
